What is the difference between a Single Phase Charger and a Three Phase Charger
-
Is one better than the other?
-
If so, then how is it better
(e.g. faster charging time? less risk of over-charging? better efficiency?)
A single phase charger is less powerfull (max. 60amps per charger) as it takes the current only from one of the three available phased chargers. Electricity consumption may also become more expensiv as the power supplier charges you by the peak consumed per phase. Where as a three phase charger takes the equal amount of power from all three phases and has therefor more power available and can charge faster (max. 120amps per charger).
The charger specifications mention: Power Supply == 400+/- 15% VAC. The power supplier has to provide 400 V 3 phase with a tolerance of maximum 15% (min voltage 340V maximum voltage 460V)

Why choose the high frequency chargers of Zivan?
Our “switching” battery chargers, with high performance electronic components, provide more
powerful units. Excellent performance is guaranteed from reduced size units, all at reasonable
prices.
The main advantages are:
-
High efficiency (higher than 85%) with consequent saving of energy
-
Weight and size reduced by a factor 10 compared to traditional chargers
-
Possibility of charging in reduced times without damage to the battery
-
Charge independent from mains variations
-
Water consumption reduced by about 50 %, with consequent less battery maintenance
-
Electronic control allowing the ideal charging curve to be delivered
-
“Ad hoc” planning for every kind of need
-
Installation both on wall and on board, for every electric vehicle
-
Flexibility, the same product can charge different kind and different capacity of batteries thanks to easy adjustments.
